Teeth Bleaching

My friend has really white teeth and you’d think his dental hygiene was superb. The truth is, he can go up to 4 days without brushing them. His breath smells but his teeth are still white.
On the odd occasion where I can’t be bothered to do them one night if I’ve been drinking and just wanna sleep, they feel all furry the next morning and my breath smells rank and I immediately have to brush them.
He doesn’t drink coffee but he does smoke alot (sometimes 25 cigarettes a day).

Some peoples’ teeth are just whiter than others. The thickness of his enamel may be more than yours. His dentin may be less yellow than yours.

It could also be that he has darker skin than yours, which tends to make teeth look whiter.

Keep in mind, though, that white teeth get decayed just as easily as yellow ones! You can always whiten your teeth. He can never "un-decay" his teeth.

What’s a tooth whitening product or procedure that you’ve witnessed great results from? Preferably something that’s not insanely expensive. And where can you find the product or obtain the service?

The crest whitening strips work pretty good. I notice a difference the first few times I used it, but the more I used them though the less difference I saw.

As far as the whitening tooth paste and mouth washes, they don’t seem to do anything at all.

Baking soda can really ruin your teeth over time because it’s
so gritty.

Hydrogen Peroxide is a ‘bleach’. Many dentists and their assistants will recommend hydrogen peroxide to you.

I have been told however that the problem with hydrogen peroxide is that it will turn your tongue brown. Your tongue has these little hairs on it. The hydrogen peroxide aids in their growth.

If you want a little furry rug on your tongue then go the hydrogen peroxide route.

Neither method is a suitable replacement for brushing your teeth
and flossing.

In regards to tooth whitening, I’ve got a bit yellowish teeth and I would like to get them white. Can I whiten them and after that just keep them white by washing and flossing to help with the tooth whitening?

For white light tooth whitening… add baking soda to your toothpaste when you’re brushing your teeth, it may taste gross but it whitens them up – it takes a few months to see anything but it should work. The issue with this is the result. It’s not going to be considerably white. If you want it "good" white, you need an alternative like the teeth whitening kits. My neighbor used it for a few days and I noticed it right away. She said she got the kit through a free trial from a website. Try the kit and if you don’t like it, stick with the baking soda for your white light tooth whitening. I’ve already got mines shipped.

Are professional teeth whitening products really much better than over the counter at home teeth whitening kits such as crest or rembrandt advanced whitening strips, listerine etc.?

I have recently found that i cannot use the normal mouthwash and the type that says whitening anywhere on it because an ingredient in it causes my throat to swell. So i was wondering if there are any teeth whitening remedies that i can use or homemade mouthwash seeing as i cant use the storebrands. okay first you need to get tooth paste (im sure you have some)
get baking soda ( ask your parents)

mix the soda(baking soda) into the paste (tooth paste)
after a couple brushes you can see that you teeth is whiter.
and you can barley taste the baking soda in the paste.

make sure you rinse out just like what you would do when you brush your teeth.

I want to get rid of the stains on my teeth, but i’m worried about a teeth whitener eating away at the enamel on my teeth.
I really don’t want to have to go to the dentist for a big expensive whitening, so i was wondering if there is anything you can get at the store that will help.

i was using those Crest Whitening Strips every 6 mos until i saw how white a co-worker’s teeth were. i asked her how she got them so white. i began doing the same and after about only 2 weeks i started to get compliments on how white my teeth were as well!

once a day before i go to sleep i dip the bristles of my toothbrush into peroxide then dip the wet bristles into baking soda and brush as usual. i use regular toothpaste for the other regular daily brushings.
