Wil bleaching your teeth blend in scars from braces?
My orthodontist told me the other day while I was having my braces tightened that I do have decalcification/scars. While I know that they are NON-reversible, a dental hygenist friend of mine told me that next year when I get my braces off just get my teeth bleached? Will that blend the scars in or just make them whiter?ANYONE OUT THERE WITH SCARS FROM BRACES!
There is a new creme toothpaste over the counter for decalcification marks. Also ask your dental hygienist about new gels that are coming out all the time for that problem. I’ve been out of the field for 2yrs and the last one was Omni gel it worked great, patients got great results. First fix the decalcification then bleach if necessary.
The scars will go away, because after you get your teeth bleached, they blend in! Hope this helps!

No, sorry…the bleaching will lighten your teeth, but ALSO will lighten the calcification scars as well…so they’ll always be "lighter" than your teeth. Unless someone can paint the bleach on your teeth and NOT the scars…
good luck.

Just talk with your Dentist, No one else….While your friend may know her Hygenist work, Your Dentist still knows more.

I don’t have scars from braces but if you do have like white spots on your teeth due to decalcification, if you whiten your teeth they are going to be more noticeable. If you decide to do the take home treatment it’d be impossible for you to just apply the gel on the areas that are not decalcified so they blend. If you get the zoom or zoom 2 procedure, the person who would do it would have to be a very meticulous person. I really don’t know how your teeth look like right now but I think you should avoid teeth whitening.
