How to prevent tooth transparency caused by bleaching – don’t want to give up coffee!?

Veneers for teeth not possible for me. Is there a mechanical or chemical shield to prevent discoloration or a make-up type product to cover up? Or another product to whiten that doesn’t cause enamel erosion?

Commercial tooth whiteners use hydrogen peroxide and are expensive and inconvenient. A cheap and natural tooth whitening home remedy uses few strawberries but certain precautions have to be taken. I found the information at http://www.aches.in/toothwhitening.html

  1. All whiteners will cause transparency if used too often. You are definitely over bleaching. You should only touch up every 2-3 months and then only once. You are doing more harm than good by over bleaching. I hope you never need a single crown or veneer done on one of your front teeth. They will not be able to match it to your adjacent teeth because of the transparency. It sounds funny, but some people will drink their coffee with a straw or sip through a coffee stirrer to cut back on staining. Over bleaching has become a new addiction.
